Two-way Conveying

Conveying in both directions

The ICS is designed to travel its entire path in an upright position. It can also accept material at multiple points along its path, by means of in-line feed units. Furthermore, the ICS can discharge material at multiple points along its path, via in-line side-discharge units. These capabilities enable the ICS to convey material along both the forward and return path simultaneously.

The accompanying animation depicts an example of two-way conveying. The orange arrow represents material that is introduced at the feed unit that is positioned at one end of the system and discharged at the other end. That is, it represents what would be considered to be the typical or main material path. The green arrow represents the introduction of material (after the "orange" material has been discharged) via an in-line feed unit. The material then travels towards the origin (in that it is part of the overall return path) and is evacuated from the System by means of a side-discharge. The belt then presents itself at the main end-feed unit clear of material and ready to accept the first type of material that is represented by the orange arrows.
