FAQ

Who are ICSI?

  • Australian owned and operated, Innovative Conveying Systems International Limited (ICSI) designs and manufactures a patented enclosed belt conveyor system for distribution in Australia and overseas.

  • ICSI have spent the past 10 years researching and developing the technology.

What is the ICS Belt Conveying System?

  • The ICS belt conveying system is a patented enclosed belt conveying system designed to convey a wide range of materials.

  • Rather than the material sitting on the belt (as with conventional belts) the material sits inside the belt, eliminating dust emissions and product loss.

  • The ICS belt conveying system conveys a wide range of materials around tight curves, up steep inclines (up to 80 degrees) and over long distances.

  • The ICS belt conveying system comes into its own when faced with a difficult or complex conveying requirement.

What applications can it be used in?

  • It is ideal for industries requiring a flexible, efficient and environmentally superior materials handling solution.

  • It can meet the requirement of a range of industries ranging from mining, construction and power generation to waste handling, paper production and chemical manufacturing.

  • The unique aspect of our technology is that we can customise to suit a specific customer requirement (if applicable).

Is there an ICS belt conveying system operating in the field?

  • The 150 Series has been installed into a fertiliser manufacturing company in Western Australia. The system is capable of conveying 70 TPH of material with a bulk density of 1, running at 2 m/s and filled to 80% capacity of the belt. For the requirements of this application however, the belt speed is a sloa 0.25 m/s allowing the product time to cool and harden, before being discharged onto the screen. It also negotiates a compound curve of 900 horizontal and 400 vertical within a radius of 1m.

  • A second 150 Series has been installed into a fertiliser manufacturing company in Western Australia. This system is conveying mulch, potting mix and soil conditioner at a rate of 10Tph from a feedr located outside of the manufacturing facility, approximately 30m to the bagging machine located in side the facility.

  • We have 2 demonstration units at our premises.

  • We are also in discussions with a number of large to medium sized organisations both in Australia and overseas for the use of our technology in difficult and complex conveying applications.

How much material can the ICS belt conveying system convey?

  • We currently can accommodate up to 5,800 T/h. For short to medium lead time jobs dependant on the type of material.

  • We can accommodate larger tonnages for jobs with long lead times.

Has the ICS belt been tested?

  • ICSI has completed in house testing on aspects of the belt including the abrasion resistance and flex life of the belt.

  • The core parts of the belt have been tested by the manufacturer.

  • All tests have shown that the belt will operate for lengthy periods under various conditions.

  • TUNRA Bulk Solids Handling Research Associates (TBSHRA), a division of the University of Newcastle Research Associates Ltd (TUNRA Ltd), has just completed a study into the sustainable loads of the J-Section for the ICS belt, showing very encouraging results. The results of the study will be available shortly.
