Management of Carry-back
The ICS belt conveying system travels both the conveying and return path in an upright position. The nature of the ICS belt is such that it is very difficult for material to remain adhered to the belt as it travels through the discharge section. However, any material that persists in the belt cannot escape along the conveying path. Instead it is safely contained within the belt until it returns to the discharge.
The result is the elimination of unwanted material gathering along the conveying path. This avoids the necessity for extra equipment to continually clean this material away, as is the case in many conventional conveying applications. An added advantage is the elimination of the risks associated with unwanted material build-up, particularly fire in the case of coal.
